2025 Harmonic Wait-List
Enter if you would like the opportunity to purchase one of this year’s nibs.
The Opus Cineris Harmonic nibs are individually handcrafted 14k gold nibs, designed, cut, shaped, tipped, slit, finished and ground by me. The Harmonic is a unique, layered nib, that is forged from a single piece of gold.
This nib series is named after an acoustic phenomenon of waves and frequencies that, through layering on top of its fundamental, create the very sound characteristics we're surrounded by. This nib also achieves its particular qualia of writing feel from its layered design, allowing support to the structure, while not losing any of the material's inherent softness.
Due to the nature of the creation process, no nib will look exactly alike. Each nib will be ground to the desired size and grind after an order has been placed. Note: the completion of these orders may take several weeks, depending on the demand.

Materials
A nib’s material can greatly impact the general feel and softness of your fountain pen. Most common metals used are steel and gold, followed by titanium and palladium. I most often opt for the gold standard: recycled 14kt gold. With this nib design, I have also added sterling silver to the list of potential nib materials.
Customization
When a nib is handmade, just about anything is possible, design-wise. From various textured or polished finishes, to hand engraved motifs all the way to precisely set gemstones..
Size
A nib’s size is generally measured by the diameter of its feed in mm. Most common sizes would be the smaller no. 5s, standard no. 6s and bombastic no. 8s. By default, I mostly work with no. 6 sized JoWo feeds, but anything is possible provided one can find a feed and housing to make it work.
Grind
The final touch, and most commonly manipulated part of a nib is its tipping. I have sourced my own rather unconventional tipping material that won’t grind like many others, yet that final grind is what will give the owner’s handwriting that very last bit of character.
