The Harmonic Nib Series
Materials
A nib’s material can greatly impact the general feel and softness of your fountain pen. Most common metals used are steel and gold, followed by titanium and palladium. With her new nib design, Anabelle has added sterling silver to the list of potential nib materials.
Customization
When a nib is handmade, just about anything is possible, design-wise. From various textured or polished finishes, to hand engraved motifs all the way to precisely set gemstones..
Size
A nib’s size is generally measured by the diameter of its feed in mm. Most common sizes would be the smaller Nr. 5s, standard nr. 6s and bombastic nr. 8s. By default, Anabelle mostly work with nr. 6 sized feeds, but anything is possible provided one can find a feed and housing to make it work.
Grind
The final touch, and most commonly manipulated part of a nib is its tipping. Anabelle has sourced her own rather unconventional tipping material that won’t grind like many others, yet that final grind is what will give the owner’s handwriting that very last bit of character.
DC Harmonic Nib
Following the recent launch of the LE Harmonic Nib Series in collaboration with Giants’ Pens, Opus Cineris premiered a 2nd batch of nibs during 2022 Washington DC Fountain Pen Supershow.
Now a small amount of these special nibs are made available for purchase to those who could not be at the DC Supershow.
